Ning Wang, ethicist and political scientist at UZH's Digital Society Initiative, has participated in the World Economic Forum's (WEF) “14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2023” in China.
The WEF assembly brought together more than 1,500 global leaders, innovators, and academics to discuss urgent geopolitical and geo-economic issues in Tianjin, China. In the event, held under the theme "Entrepreneurship: The Driving Force of the Global Economy," Ning Wang led a Hub Session focusing on the subject of "Ethical Dilemmas of Emerging Technologies”.
Ning Wang's active engagement during the "Summer Davos" event also led to her contribution to a WEF article centered on global economic decoupling and de-risking. As an appointed member of the WEF Global Future Council on the Future of Technology Policy (2023-2024), Ning Wang's work spans diverse disciplines, propelling innovative solutions to worldwide challenges.
WEF’s Global Future Councils (GFC) are an invitation-only network, acting as a hub for interdisciplinary ideas. The Global Council on the Future of Technology Policy aligns with the need to responsibly navigate rapid technological advancements. The Council strives to foster innovative thinking, promoting strategies that address global challenges and pave the way for a sustainable and inclusive future for all.
