Arrival in Zurich

Good to know: How do I get my ticket?

You may buy tickets at vending machines at the airport, at tram stations, and at train stations.

Tipp: The easiest way (and how every person living in Switzerland does it) is downloading the SBB Mobile app. You can link your bank card in the app and buy tickets directly on there.

SBB is the abbreviation for the German name of the Swiss Federal Railways.

Arrival by train

Congratulations on choosing a sustainable way to travel! You are rewarded by arriving at Zürich HB, which is the main train station in the heart of the city of Zurich! The abbreviation "HB" stands for "Hauptbahnhof", which means train station in German. Zürich HB is conveniently located in the center of the city. From here, you can travel around the city comfortably using regional trains, trams, and buses – or simply walk places.

How to get to the University of Zurich (UZH)

Take tram number 10 at "Bahnhofplatz" in the direction of "Bahnhof Oerlikon/Flughafen", exit at "ETH/Universitätsspital". Walk down Rämistrasse to reach UZH. Always enter the university through the entrance at Rämistrasse 71.

From Zürich HB, you can also walk to the university – the path will take you through the old town, up the hill, to the university building. Make sure you type in Rämistrasse 71 into Google Maps. You should calculate around 25 minutes for this scenic walk.

Tip: Get a day pass (24h) for Zurich Zone 110 for CHF 9.20 at the tram stop or in the SBB app. This includes the transfer from and to the main train station (does not include the airport!)

Arrival by airplane

If you are flying to Switzerland for the Una Europa General Assembly, the most convenient airport is Zurich Airport in Kloten, right outside of Zurich.

How to get to Zurich Main Station (Zürich HB)

The easiest way to reach the city from the airport is by using public transportation.
