The newly appointed Chinese Consul General to Zurich and Liechtenstein, Ms. Chen Yun, met with UZH President Michael Schaepman to discuss existing and potential future collaborations between universities in the People’s Republic of China and UZH.
Researchers at UZH are currently collaborating on more than 50 research projects with counterparts in the People’s Republic of China. UZH also maintains a lively student exchange at all levels, including many Chinese students receiving their Bachelor, Master, or PhD diplomas at UZH each year.
As a member of the global university alliance Universitas 21 (U21), UZH has particularly close ties with the two leading universities in Shanghai, Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, as well as with the University of Hong Kong.
Universitas 21 is the leading global network of 28 research-intensive universities from all continents. The network facilitates collaboration between its members, advances the internationalization of education, and promotes the exchange of experience. As part of the focus areas of U21, UZH and the three Chinese members are working together towards increasing educational innovation, promoting researcher engagement and improving student experiences.
