Kyoto University DoGS SPRING Program and DoGS NEXT AI Program

Our partner Kyoto University's Division of Graduate Studies (DoGS) has opened calls for two exceptional funding opportunities for doctoral students: the DoGS SPRING Program and the DoGS NEXT AI Program. These programs provide substantial financial support for living and research expenses, along with unique educational opportunities for career development.

  • Application for: PhD candidates
  • Requirement: Applicants must be expected to enroll as first-year doctoral students at Kyoto University.
  • Research Incentive Grant (Living Expense): 2.16 million yen/year (SPRING); 3 million yen/year (NEXT AI Program)
  • Research Grant: 0.4 million yen/year (SPRING); 0.9 million yen/year (NEXT AI Program)
  • Tuition fee: Half exemption (SPRING); Full exemption (NEXT AI Program)
  • Application period: The Fall selection, targeting October enrollment, begins in early September.
